The IW&FS (Napa/Sonoma Branch) celebrates Juneteenth National Independence Day, a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in Texas, specifically in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865. It's the longest-running African American holiday and is celebrated to honor the freedom and perseverance of Black Americans. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. 
 

Event will include:

- A brief verbal history of Juneteenth
- An Overview of the Association of African American Vintners
- Tasting of selected wines from wine makers of the Association of African American Vintners (ratings > 90+): Okapi (About Okapi), Theopolis (About Theopolis) and P Harrell (About P Harrell)
- Food and wines paired with historical cuisine of Juneteenth.
